RINCON GARDENS - RAIN FOREST

Tour Description

Join us on this half day tour and help us to find the most beautiful birds, from the impressive Montezuma Oropendula to the magnificent Keel-billed Toucan, a great variety of feathered jewels enhance the evergreen forest located in the slopes of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano (Santa María Sector). It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an avid birder, this early morning start may provide us plenty of birds and other wildlife that you don´t want to miss out!

Rincon Gardens is a new property (it will eventually become a birders lodge), located adjacent to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park (Santa María Sector), it is being redesigned (by a birder) to facilitate birding and photography, the trails are easy to moderate, located at 730 m.a.s.l. and you can see the weather condtions & climate records following this link: https://ambientweather.net/dashboard/649ccf18de481c8d9eebca58eec89ab6

There is also, an old road next to the lodge, that became a trail through the rain forest and it grants free access to a sector of the national park.

Itinerary

Pick up time: 4:30 am (it depends on hotel´s location)

6:00 am - 8:00 am Birding the gardens and trails (Rincon Gardens)

Breakfast: 8 am - 8:45 am

8:45 am - 11:30 am Birding at Calle Vieja San Jorge - Rincon de la Vieja National Park      

1:00 pm Approx arrival to hotel (This tour can be extended at NO extra cost- guests will have to cover their own lunch en route)
